On Sunday, March 17, Gateway for Cancer Research held its annual fundraising event at The Breakers Palm Beach, bringing the community together to raise funds for transformational cancer research. The evening featured incredible cuisine, show-stopping entertainment and festive St. Patrick’s Day fun, all to support meaningful and breakthrough clinical trials benefiting courageous cancer patients around the world.
The event was hosted by global philanthropists Dr. Stacie J. Stephenson, Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA) Chairman of Functional Medicine and Director and Gateway for Cancer Research Board, and Mr. Richard J Stephenson, Founder and Chairman of CTCA and Gateway for Cancer Research, who also served as the event’s Co-Honorary Chairs and Presenting Sponsor. Rebecca Doane served as a co-chair and the late Judi Richards, a Palm Beach resident and consummate philanthropist who lost her battle with cancer in January 2019, was recognized as a Chairman in Memoriam. The evening marked the recent formation of The Judi Miracle Richards Cancer Research Fund.
Emmy Award-winning news anchor Carey Peña served as Master of Ceremonies, and the evening featured a surprise performance that featured popular Jersey Boys hits, followed by a performance from the Bella Electric Strings, and music from the Sultans of Swing. Premier private chef Markus Ford created the elegant menu.
